The Salem Lady Cats soccer team opened up their season under first year head coach Elizabeth Barnett. Salem fell at Centralia 7-3.
Areesa Eisenhaur scored on a penalty kick with goals also coming from Mackenzie Mann and Alesia Keller.
Barnett told WJBD/WSIQ the girls showed great effort in their game, “it was a new experience for some, with half playing their first ever soccer game. Barnett added they have a young team with a lot of potential and will take it one game at a time and hopefully see improvements and build off their experiences as the season goes on.”
The Lady Cats are back in action Tuesday at home against Freeburg.
