The girls basketball season finished up this weekend. Brimfield won the 1a state title in the opening game Saturday over Galena 32-31. Quincy Notre Dame is the 2a champ after their 63-56 win over Winnebago. In 3a, Mundelein Carmel beat Nazareth Academy 43-39. Lincolnshire Stevenson is the 4a champ knocking off Barrington 55-43.
Woodlawn sophomore Jace Burkett is the 1a 3-point shooting champ after hitting 11 in the finals to easily win the title. She then advanced to the queen of the hill to shoot against Xamiya Walton of Chicago Noble in 2a, Faith Feurbach of Sycamore in 3a and Jocelyn Canellis of Sandburg in 4a. Canellis, who hit 13 of 15 in the 4a finals, repeated that to win the Queen of the Hill. Feurbach made 11 and Burkett and Walton made 10 out of 15.
