The boys sectional finals were played last night.

It was a classic in 1a at St Anthony.  Macon Meridian got a 3 pointer to send their game with Tuscola into overtime.  And then in the 2nd overtime, Graham Heisenhelter hit a ¾ court shot to send Meridian over Tuscola 82-79 in double OT.  In the loss, Tuscola’s Jalen Quinn had 37 points in the loss.  At Okawville in 1a, Steeleville knocked off Christopher in a good game 32-31. Steeleville and Macon Meridian will play Monday in the Super Sectionals at SIU-Carbondale at 6pm.

In 2a, Nashville avenged an earlier season loss in their tournament finals to Breese Central by beating the Cougars in the Carterville Sectional finals 47-45.  Dalton Boruff of Breese Central was one of the 2 qualifiers for the state 3-point shootout.

At Flora, TTown had no problem beating Mt Carmel 56-35.  Before the game, Salem senior Brendan Phillips advanced along with Robinson sophomore Owen Schmidt to shoot at the State 3-point shootout.  It should be a good one Monday from the SIU-Carbondale 2a Super when Nashville and TTown play at 7:30.

In 3a, East St Louis knocked off Chatham Glenwood at Highland 56-47.  They will advance to the Springfield Super Sectional Monday night at 7:30 against Sacred Heart Griffin after they beat MacArthur to win the Danville Sectional 55-53.

In 4a at Collinsville, Quincy knocked off Normal Community 56-51.  It will be Bolingbrook and Quincy from ISU in Normal on Monday.
