A third person was pleaded guilty in Jackson County Court at Murphysboro in connection with the 2016 first-degree murder of a former Salem and Mt. Vernon resident.

30-year-old Robert Dennis received a 40-year prison term for his role in the death of Robin Stief.

Another first-degree murder charge and concealing a homicidal death were dropped as part of the plea.

In addition to the prison time, Dennis was ordered to complete three years of mandatory supervised release.   He was given credit for the time he has been in custody since his October 2016 arrest.

Earlier, 27-year-old Tiesha Anderson was sentenced to 40 years and 28-year-old Lauren Stinde to 30 years in prison in connection with the murder.

Carbondale Police say Robin Stief’s burned body was found when they were called to put out a trash can fire.   Stief had been reported as missing four months earlier in August of 2016.
