Sectional semifinals continued last night for prep boys basketball.  In 1a, South Central’s season came to an end at 26-8 with a tough 60-57 loss to Macon Meridian at St Anthony.  The Cougars trailed by double digits in the 4th quarter until their rally that came up just short.  Meridian advances to tomorrow’s title game to play Tuscola.

At Okawville, Christopher knocked off NCOW 46 35 and advance to take on Steeleville for the sectional title on Friday.

In 2a at Flora, Mt Carmel beat the Pana Panthers 67-56 to advance to the sectional finals tomorrow against the Wooden Shoes of TTown.  Nashville got past Murphysboro 33-30 to set up a big time matchup for that sectional title on Friday when Breese Central takes on the Hornets.  The two teams met in the title game of the NIT this year with the Cougars coming out on top 51-40.

In 3a last night, East St Louis punched their ticket into the Highland Sectional finals with an easy 66-35 win over Marion.  The Flyers will take on Chatham Glenwood tomorrow.  Decatur MacArthur eliminated Mahomet Seymour 65-62 in overtime.  They get Sacred Heart Griffin in the Danville finals tomorrow.
