The Franklin Park athletic department handed out their winter sports awards last night.
The Lady Bobcats enjoyed a very successful season that ended with a 2nd place finish at the State Tournament. Audrey Lybarger was the Varsity HEART winner with Addy Lever winning the JV award. Brianna Redenbo was the Barney Bruce Sportsmanship Award winner, Jordan Kessler and Marah Johnson were Co-MVP’s with Johnson named Most Improved. Kylee Garrison was 6th Woman of the Year, Jaelyn Keller won the Outstanding Defensive Award, Hannah Smith the Assist Leader with JV Offensive Award going to Mya Russell and Defensive Award to Brylee Pennypacker.
The Bobcat basketball team handed out Awards to Ryegan Warren who was the HEART winner and the Jim Husk Co-Offensive MVP along with Eli Lograsso. Eli Baker got the Charles Raglin Leadership Award, Angel Salgado the Kohrig Defensive Player of the Year and Holden Richardson was Most Improved.
The JV Bobcats set a school record for wins going 22-2 on the season. Six 7th graders will have their names added to the 100 point club for the season. Payton Gullion was the leading scorer on the season with 185, one more than Landon Maxey with 184, Avery Gullion 136, Jaret Gibson 116, Caeden Miraglia 112 and Trey Clark 108. The 6th Man Award went to Keytin Grawe, Avery Gullion won the Ice Man Award, Clark was the Comeback Player of the Year, Gibson won the Hustle Award and Keytin King was the 6th Grader of the Year. Madden Thompson was Most Improved and Maxey was the Sharpshooter Award winner.
The Cheerleading Awards went to Abbigail Onhiser for Best Jumps and was Co-Captain along with Finley Puricelli. Caitlynn Bryan was Most Spirited and Amyrah Newcomer was Most Improved.
