Tonight in boys sectional semifinal action in Class 1a at St Anthony, South Central makes their return trip to Sectionals after 19 years of drought to take on Macon Meridian. The Cougars knocked off sub-sectional top-seed Altamont to win the Dieterich title last week. The winner will play Tuscola as they knocked off St Anthony last night 51-48. St Anthony led 46-37 with 3:30 left in the game.
At Okawville, NCOE will take on Christopher with the winner getting Steeleville who beat Goreville 54-40.
In 2a at the Carterville Sectional, Nashville will take on Murphysboro with the winner getting the Cougars of Breese Central after they destroyed Massac County last night 59-24. At Flora it will be the Pana Panthers taking on Mt Carmel. The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes won their game at Flora last night over Alton Marquette 41-33.
In Class 3a, Mahomet Seymour will take on MacArthur at Danville, East St Louis and Marion play at Highland. Centralia’s season came to an end at Highland last night falling to Chatham Glenwood 42-38. At Danville, Sacred Heart Griffin knocked off Centennial 58-50.
In 4a last night at Collinsville, Quincy knocked off the hosts 34-32 and Normal beat Moline 61-44.
