The KC Blue Devils opened up Region 24 play on Saturday with a 68-65 home win over Olney Central College. Chauncey Hughes led KC with 23, Trae Jones added 15 and Darius Duffy 11. Noah Gordon had 26 in the loss for Olney.
The Devils are 18-10 overall and will advance to the Region quarterfinals today at 1pm against top seed John A Logan. At 3pm today it’s Wabash Valley and Lincoln Trail, followed at 5pm by SWIC and the winner of Lake Land and Lewis & Clark and the day concludes with Shawnee and Vincennes at 7pm.
The semifinals are Wednesday with the Region Championship on Friday.
The KC Blue Angels season came to an end at 12-13 after their region quarterfinal loss to Vincennes 79-75. Nyah Ford had 17 in the loss, Kyra Duncan added 14, Shaniah Nunn 13 and 10 each from jaya Hedgepeth and Casandra Sams.
