The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to approve resolutions to allow Curry and Associates Engineers, Incorporated to proceed with plans for construction of a new water plant and replacement of the raw water line from the Boulder Pump Station on Carlyle Lake to east of Shattuc. The council will also consider other resolutions to move the Gragg Street Resurfacing Project and the Jolliff Bridge Road waterline replacement projects forward.
The first resolution with Curry and Associates would pay them up to $1,719,340 for engineering services on the new water plant and the raw water and arterial water main that has an estimated construction cost of over $22.7-million. The contract will cover design, bidding, and construction guidance phase including work with the Illinois EPA on approval. The second contract with Curry is for civil engineering on replacement of the raw water line from the Carlyle Lake Boulder Pump Station to East of Shattuc Road with a new 26 inch steel water transmission line. The estimated fee for the engineering work is not to exceed $150,900.
The council will be asked to pass another resolution for an agreement with Gonzalez Companies, LLC to perform design engineering and construction engineering services for replacement along Jolliff Bridge Road from McCord Street five-thousand feet north. The engineering services contract is estimated at $34,500 unless the scope changes.
Two resolutions are on the agenda for the Gragg Street Road Project that is planned for 1.6-miles along Gragg Street from Lincoln Boulevard to Country Club Road. One resolution is to have Volkert, Inc. for engineering services at a cost estimated at $198,200. A second resolution would allow use of Rebuild Illinois Funds to pay for the engineering costs.
Another resolution would reject the bids for the city hall roof project and direct the staff to resolicit for bids.
The council will also be asked to approve an ordinance to automatically reduce the number of liquor licenses when one is turned in.
The city council meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
