Sectionals were played last night in girls hoops due to the weather pushing them from Thursday. In 3a last night at Civic Memorial, the host Eagles earned a 72-68 overtime win over Mattoon. At Lincoln, Mahomet Seymour beat the hosts 52-43. The teams will play from the Highland Super Sectional on Monday.
In 2a last night at Monticello, Pana beat Paris 46-33. Salem shooter Lauren Burge did not advance to state as one of the top 2 shooters. At Nashville, Carterville beat Mater Dei 63-52 behind 26 from Alecia Doyle. Avery Tame led Mater Dei with 14. Pana and Carterville will play from Vandalia on Monday.
In 1a sectional finals, Okawville got 22 from Briley Rhodes in their 54-27 win over Jacksonville Routt. Neoga beat St Anthony at Tuscola 48-42. Okawville will play Brimfield Monday in the Brown County Super Sectional while Neoga heads to Wayne City to play Goreville.
