By WJBD Staff Feb 25, 2022 | 7:00 AM

The Salem Wildcats will look for their first regional championship since 2011 when they play for the 2a title at Pana.  Coach Pete Colclasure knows that 2011 team well, as we was a starting guard on coach Bob Fredericks team that snapped a skid of nearly 65 years since their previous one in the 40s.  It won’t be easy as the 16-12 Cats will take on the top-seed Panthers who are 28-3 on the season.  Game time at 7pm on WJBD.

Also in 2a regional finals today at Arthur it will be Teutopolis playing Newton, Greenville hosts Marquette, Mt Carmel and Fairfield play from Robinson and it’s semifinal night at Wesclin with Breese Central and Althoff followed by Mater Dei and Columbia.

Also tonight in 3a, Centralia will be the site for the Orphans and Mount Vernon Rams round 4.  The Orphans have won the previous 3 meetings this season.  East St Louis plays Highland at Cahokia, Mahomet Seymour hosts Lincoln.  Mascoutah and Marion will play at Olney with the winner playing the undefeated host Tigers in the title game.

In 1a regional title games tonight, the SC Cougars try to get back on top of the regional mountain top when they travel to Dieterich to take on Altamont.  Also tonight at Elkville, Christopher plays Sesser, Patoka is the site for St Anthony and Carlyle, at Strasburg it will be Neoga taking on Macon Meridian.  Woodlawn will be the site for regional semifinals tonight with Steeleville and Webber followed by Wayne City and Edwards County.
