Washington County Sheriff Len Campbell has announced he will not seek re-election.
The sheriff says the decision came after much soul-searching and prayer.
Campbell says he has enjoyed his time in service and feels he was placed in the right place at the right time. He adds it has been his distinct pleasure to serve as sheriff, working with great people at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Campbell says they have dealt with many challenges over the past three (plus) years and he’s proud to know the “opportunities to excel” have all been handled proficiently and professionally.
Campbell says he will complete his current term that expires on November 30th.
