The Marion County Soil & Water Conservation District is now accepting orders for their spring 2022 tree seedling and fish sales.
The District is offering 7 tree species. All tree seedlings have been selected because they are adapted to the climate of Marion County.
Evergreen trees available are White Pine, Norway Colorado Blue Spruce.
These are 2-year-old bare root seedlings and range in size from 4” to 7” and 10” to 18” tall. The Loblolly Pine are seedlings and 12-18” in size. These seedlings are typically purchased in bundles of 25 trees but can also be purchased individually.
The remaining species available are Bald Cypress, White Flowering Dogwood, Pecan and Sawtooth Oak. These seedlings are 12” to 18” tall.
All trees are limited in numbers, so order early. Orders will be accepted till March 27th. The delivery date is planned for the first part of April.
This year the Conservation District will again offer fish for pond stocking.
Nine varieties of fish will be sold. They are channel catfish, albino catfish, largemouth bass, flathead minnows, black crappie, hybrid sunfish, bluegill, redear, and triploid grass carp.
Grass Carp orders are due on or before March 17th. All orders for fish orders must be received by March 24, 2022. The fish delivery date is Thursday March 31st, 12:00 PM at the Marion County Farm Bureau parking lot.
