Centralia Police have arrested a 36-year-old Centralia man on multiple charges after he allegedly refused to allow Centralia Police to enter his home to investigate a domestic violence case.
Ruiz Guillermo of East 13th was eventually arrested for unlawful restraint, two counts of domestic battery, disorderly conduct for making a false 911 call, and resisting arrest.
Centralia Police say Guillermo had initially called an ambulance to his home for an ankle injury, but then didn’t want to go to the hospital. EMT’s spotted a female inside who told them she had been battered. However, Guillermo refused them entry to check on the woman.
When Centralia Police arrived they knocked several times, but there was no answer. Eventually, they forced open the door to check on the wellbeing of the woman. Guillermo continued to try and hold the door shut and then reportedly resisted police trying to put him in handcuffs.
The alleged victim allegedly had a large amount of swelling to the left side of her face. Children in the home reportedly confirmed Guillermo had struck the woman.
Guillermo was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
