NHL Wrap-Up: Blues use 3-goal third period to top Maple Leafs 6-3

Elsewhere in the NHL:

— The Colorado Avalanche was able to add to their NHL-leading point total.  The Avalanche picked up their seventh consecutive road win despite allowing a hat trick in a 5-3 decision over the Sabres.  Mikko Rantanen scored his 26th goal and set up Alex Newhook’s tiebreaking tally in the third period. Nathan MacKinnon also had a goal and an assist to help Darcy Kuemper earn a point in his 18th consecutive decision. Kuemper stopped 29 shots for the Avs, who are 13-1-1 in their last 15 games.  The Sabres fell to 8-14-4 at home despite Tage Thompson’s first hat trick with the team.

— The Bruins pulled out a 3-2 win at Ottawa as David Pastrnak scored on a one-timer 2:42 into overtime. Jake DeBrusk and Brandon Carlo also scored, and Jeremy Swayman stopped 29 shots as Boston ended a two-game losing streak.

— Drew Doughty and Adrian Kempe scored two goals apiece and the Kings rallied for a 5-3 victory over the Coyotes. Doughty, Kempe and Trevor Moore each scored in a 3:39 span early the third period as the Kings overcame a two-goal deficit for the second time in two nights.

— Adam Henrique and Nicolas Deslauriers each scored twice and the Ducks snapped a four-game winless streak with a 7-4 victory over the Canucks. Troy Terry added a goal and an assist in the victory.

— Connor McDavid is back atop the league scoring race after putting up a goal and two assists in the Oilers’ fifth straight win, 4-2 versus the Jets. McDavid has 26 goals and 71 points, two ahead of teammate Leon Draisatl.

— Elias Lindholm extended his goal streak to seven games notching the go-ahead goal 7:31 into the third period of the Flames’ 2-1 victory over Seattle. Lindholm has nine goals during his streak and 22 this season.
