The Salem JV Bobcats opened up the Woodlawn JV Tournament with a 58-16 dominating win over Bluford. Payton Gullion had the hot hand finishing with 15, Trey Clark added 11 and Avery Gullion 9 as Salem put 10 in the scoring column to improve to 22-1 on the season. They will get Nashville tonight in the semifinal after they hit a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left to knock off Centralia in their opener.
The North Wamac 7th Grade Tournament also opened up at Vic Dorris Gymnasium. Raccoon opened with a 51-5 win over Ashley. Central City beat Kell-Farrington, Field beat Hoffman Trinity/Centralia St Mary’s 43-40, Irvington/North Wamac beat New Horizon 37-29. Tonight is the semifinals with Raccoon taking on Central City at 5 followed by the hosts and Field at 6pm.
