A license plate check on a car with a broken windshield led to the two occupants of a vehicle being arrested for allegedly stealing the car from East St. Louis.
Centralia Police say the driver, 40-year-old Leia Wells of Florissant, Missouri, and passenger, 30-year-old Kora Berry of Alton, were both arrested for alleged possession of stolen property and motor vehicle theft. In addition, Wells was arrested for no insurance and no valid license. They were both taken to the Marion County Jail to await formal court action.
The traffic stop occurred at 1:08 Monday morning.
