Illinois State Police say a standoff with a subject of interest in a fatal shooting in Greenville Thursday night ended peacefully early Friday morning.
Both Greenville Police and Illinois State Police initially responded to reports of an active shooter around seven Thursday night. Multiple gunshots were reportedly heard coming from locations in the area of the 600 blocks of both Vine and East South Street. Greenville Police later found a female with a fatal gunshot wound in an area home.
The investigation later move to the 500 block of East Main in Greenville where a person had barricaded themselves in a home. The subject was taken into custody as part of the homicide investigation at one Friday morning.
State Police say no other information is currently being released.
