Salem Mayor Nic Farley will deliver the State of the City Message next Thursday before a Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon meeting.
Chamber Executive Director Jessiycka Coleman says Farley’s program will mark the return of a monthly chamber lunch that will be named “Grub and Grow”.
The program on Thursday will be at Sharon’s Cafe in the Orchard Shopping Center. Both chamber and non-chamber members are welcome at the State of the City Message. You are asked to make reservations. You can do so via the chamber’s Facebook page or by calling the office at 618-548-3010 and leaving a message. Chamber members who received an invite can also respond back to the e-mail.
As part of the monthly “Grub and Grow”, the Salem Chamber will take up a collection to assist an organization. During the February gathering, donations will be taken for the City of Salem Animal Control facility.
Coleman says the March and April programs have already been planned as well. ‘Grub and Grow’ will be on the third Thursday of each month.
In March the program will feature a speaker from Serpentine Web Solutions. The topic will be digital marketing. The program will be held at Apollo’s Cafe and donations will be received for the Pregnancy Care Center. In April, representatives from local clubs and organizations will be asked to speak about their organizations. It will be held at the Salem Elks Lodge. Donations will be taken up for Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
The monthly chamber luncheons had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
