Governor to require nursing home and other long term care workers to get COVID vaccine booster

Governor JB Pritzker has signed a new executive order requiring those working in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities to get a COVID-19 booster vaccine by March 15th.

The Governor also extended other orders related to vaccine mandates and the wearing of masks through March 5th.

The Governor issued an August order that all health care workers get vaccinated or have regular tests for COVID-19.   The same order has been issued for those working in education and daycare facilities.  But for now, the booster shot order only applies to those working in a nursing home or other facilities.
