Bobcats Open Regionals Tuesday….Raccoon Heading To State For 5th Straight Year

The Franklin Park Bobcats will open up Class L regionals tomorrow at home when they take on Wesclin at 5:30 followed by the other semifinal between Centralia and Highland.  The championship game will be Thursday night.

In Class S over the weekend, Altamont Lutheran knocked off Patoka 50-34 to win the Selmaville Regional.

Michael Organ scored 24 to lead Raccoon to their 5th straight regional title beating Field at Field 41-30.

The State matchups are set in Class S as Jonesboro and St Mark’s Steeleville will play Saturday in the opening round at 9:30 followed by Trinity Lutheran Hoffman and Raccoon at 10:45, Meridian will play the Region 16 winner at noon, Valmeyer and Albers/Damiansville at 1:15, St Boniface Edwardsville takes on the Region 15 winner at 2:30, Altamont and our Lady of Mount Carmel at 3:45 followed by TSJ Nashville and Hardin County at 5 and then Waltonville and Bluford at 6:15.

The Class M state tournament opens Friday with Goreville and Grant Middle School at 3:30, NCOE and Aviston at 4:45, Sesser and Fairfield at 6 and then Nashville and Sparta at 7:15.
