Salem Fire Protection District Chief Dave Duncan says they were able to keep a fire in high grass away from the closest building 50 yards away on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was at the Anthony Rinne property in the 5300 block of Church Road. The fire is believed to have spread from a burn pile. It covered about an acre of tall grass before it was put out.
