Jr. High Sports Wrap-Up: Konhorst sets new career-high 44 points in NWIGP loss to Bethel/McCellan/Mt. Vernon St. Mary’s

North Wamac/Irvington/Grand Prairie 8th grader Devin Konhorst finished his last regular-season game by scoring a new career-high 44 points, but NWIGP still fell short to Bethel/McCellan/Mt. Vernon St. Mary’s Bulldogs 71 to 56.  It was also a big night for St. Mary’s 8th grade Eli Probst who recorded his 1,000 career points and finished the game with 26 points.   The Indian Eagles finish the regular season 13-11 and will play in the regional semi-final Wednesday at Field Grade School vs. The Field Panthers at 7:30.

North Wamac/Irvington/Grand Prairie JV Indian Eagles end the regular season with a 37-16 win over the Bethel/ McClellan/Mt. Vernon St. Mary Bulldogs. They were led by Azlynn Witthaus-Straight with 14 points.  She later had to leave the varsity game with an injury.  Jacib Heern had 11.  The JV Indian Eagles finish the regular season 10-8.

The Franklin Park JV boys improved to 19-1 with a 52 to 19 win over Breese.   Trey Clark had 16 and Landon Maxey 14 to lead Franklin Park.

The South Central 7th grade team beat St. Elmo-Brownstown 42 to 11 at the 7th-grade regionals at St. Anthony.  South Central was led by Sabastian Kruger with 14 and Luke Shumate with 10.

In Middle School volleyball, South Central varsity beat Dieterich 25-18, 25-11.  The JV was also victorious, 25-15, 25-14.
