Centralia Police say the driver of a pickup truck that sped away from an attempted traffic stop at Rhodes and Elm went on a lengthy high-speed police chase that ended when he drove the truck off the road and continued to flee into a field.

Police report speeds at times reached 100 miles per in the chase that took the Gragg Street Road, to Green Street Road, to Brewery Hill, to Community Beech, to Odin Road, back to Green Street, to Hoots Chapel to Soper Road to Barham Road in rural Odin where police let the pickup flee off-road without chasing it.

Police say they believe they know who was driving the truck.

The chase began at 4:30 Monday morning.
