Driver’s License facilities to be closed another week

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White says driver’s services facilities will be closed for one more week.

Secretary of State Offices and driver’s services facilities won’t open to the public until Monday or Tuesday, January 24th or 25th, depending on regular business hours.  Spokesperson Henry Haupt says they want to be cautious and protect the health of workers and customers amidst the ongoing pandemic.  He says this shouldn’t cause too big of a hassle.

“Drivers license and id card expirations have been extended until March 31.  And Secretary White also extended the expirations for CDL’s until January 31st for those CDL’s that expired between November 1st, 2021 and the end of January this year.”

Haupt says CDL facilities in Rockford, Springfield and Marion will open next Tuesday for in-person CDL transactions only.  He reminds you can renew your license plate sticker online at: ilsos.gov
