A long-time member of the Centralia Fire Department has retired after 21 years of service. Lieutenant Garrick Parson was praised by Fire Chief John Lynch for coordinating the Emergency Medical Services portion of the department and being a great asset on every fire scene. Lynch said Parson is usually one of the first to enter a burning building and one of the last to leave. Parson won’t be leaving completely. He’ll remain part-time after beginning his new position as a flight medic with Air Evac.
Cory Kleiboeker was promoted to replace Parson as Lieutenant. Kleiboeker joined the Hoffman Fire Department in 1995 and served there until hired by the City of Centralia Fire Department 21 years ago.
Devan Orrill was sworn in as a new full-time firefighter. He joined the Centralia Fire Department as a part-time officer in 2019. He started in the fire profession at Irvington in 2008. He moved to the Jefferson County Fire Protection District from 2016 until joining the Centralia Fire Department Part-time.
A new part-time fireman was also sworn in. Cody Melton joined the fire department in 2011 where he currently still serves as a Lieutenant.
