Fleury plays against former team, leads Blackhawks to win

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves against his former team and the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 to snap a six-game losing streak. Jujhar Khaira and Riley Stillman scored for the Blackhawks, who were 0-3-3 in their previous six games. It was Fleury’s first start against Vegas since being traded in the offseason. He has now beaten all 32 NHL teams in his career. Fleury, who was with Vegas for its first four seasons in the league, has posted a 9-4-2 record across his past 15 games after starting the season with one win in his first eight appearances. Ben Hutton scored the lone goal for Vegas, while Robin Lehner made 19 saves for the Golden Knights.

Elsewhere in the NHL:

— The Pittsburgh Penguins’ 10-game winning streak has ended with a 3-2 loss at Dallas. The Pens led until Roope Hintz and Joe Pavelski scored 75 seconds apart late in the third period. Hintz’s goal with 3:46 remaining sent the Stars to their fourth straight win. Denis Gurianov also scored and Jake Oettinger stopped 27 shots for Dallas. Jason Robertson assisted on all three goals. Brian Dumoulin and Kasperi Kapanen scored in a 25-second span early in the first period for the Penguins. Tristan Jarry made 29 saves for Pittsburgh, which is 18-1-1 when leading after two periods this season.

— Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak each scored twice to back Linus Ullmark, who turned back 27 shots in the Bruins’ 5-2 win at Tampa Bay. Pastrnak scored twice in the opening 6:10, giving him three goals in the last three games following a nine-game drought.

— The Panthers topped the Hurricanes, 4-3 on Anthony Duclair’s goal at 2:53 of overtime. Carter Verhaeghe had two goals and Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and an assist as Florida extended its points streak to six games.

— Ryan Lindgren scored twice in the third period after Jarred Tinordi got credit for the tiebreaking goal in the Rangers’ 4-1 victory over the Ducks. Mika Zibanejad also scored and Alexandar Georgiev needed to make just13 saves in New York’s fourth win in five games.

— The Predators came away with a 4-2 win over the Coyotes as Roman Josi had a goal and an assist and Juuse Saros stopped 37 shots. Nashville played without leading scorer Filip Forsberg, who was placed in COVID-19 protocols just before the game.

— The Wild beat the Capitals, 3-2 behind shootout goals by Kevin Fiala and Frederick Gaudreau. Washington put a shot into its own net but led until Mats Zuccarello tallied with 34.7 seconds left in regulation.

— Tomas Hertl completed a hat trick 24 seconds into overtime to give the Sharks a 3-2 win over the Flyers. Brent Burns assisted all three goals and Timo Meier had two assists as San Jose finished 2-2 on its road trip.

— The Blue Jackets’ three-game skid is over after Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice in their 4-3 win over the Devils. Boone Jenner and Igor Chinakhov also scored for Columbus, while Jakub Voracek and Adam Boqvist each had two assists.

— Devon Toews scored 1:12 into overtime and the Avalanche rallied from a three-goal deficit to earn their team-record 11th straight home win, 5-4 against the Maple Leafs. J.T. Compher tied it at 4 with 8:18 left and Mikko Rantanen assisted on Colorado’s last three goals.

— The Kings blanked the Red Wings, 4-0 as Cal Petersen stopped all 21 shots in his first start in over a month. Phillip Danault and Drew Doughty scored in the first period to help Los Angeles win for the third time in four games.
