Salem Firemen were able to successfully rescue a dog that had fallen through the ice of an above-ground swimming pool on Thursday.
Firemen were called to the Gary Benjamin home near the intersection of Selmaville Road and Watson Lane.
Firemen first coaxed the 50 to 60-pound dog to swim to the edge of the pool where several firefighters were then able to lift it out of the water. The dog did not appear to be injured.
