State Police say one person was injured in a crash involving a semi and two pickup trucks on Route 37 at the Tonti Road north of Salem Monday afternoon.
Preliminary investigative details indicate a pickup truck driven by 18-year-old Austin Lange of Edgewood was traveling southbound on Route 37 when it crashed into a pickup truck stopped in traffic driven by 60-year-old Charles Wilson of Teutopolis. The impact forced Wilson’s pickup into a semi stopped in front of him waiting to turn onto the Tonti Road driven by 29-year-old Stephen Getz of Eureka, IL.
State Police say the only person injured was Wilson who was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lange was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 3:18 Monday afternoon.
