Three more COVID-19 related deaths being reported in South Central Illinois

Three area health departments are each reporting one new COVID-19 related death.   The reports are coming in weekly reports for last week in Clinton, Fayette, and Wayne Counties.

Clinton County is reporting the death of a male in his 70s as the county’s 108th COVID-19 related death.    The department is also reporting 405 new positive cases for the period December 28th through January 3rd.   There is one new hospitalization, a female in her 40s.   There are currently 640 on home isolation in Clinton County.

The additional death in Fayette County brings their total to 73.   Fayette County is reporting 162 new COVID-19 cases last week.

Wayne County is reporting one new COVID-19 death, bringing their total during the pandemic to 66.

Jefferson County has had no new deaths but is reporting 201 new COVID-19 cases New Year’s Eve Day through Tuesday.

The Marion County Health Department has had no additional deaths to report since the 13 were reported last Thursday.
