Congresswoman Mary Miller, who currently represents most of South Central Illinois, has decided to run in the new 15th District in the 2022 election.   That pits Miller against incumbent Republican Rodney Davis who was quick to note Miller does not live in the district. She can run because part of the district is within her former district before redistricting after the 2020 US Census.

Miller could have also run in the 12th Congressional District where her farm is now located and challenged another Republican Incumbent Mike Bost. The 12th District now includes most of South Central Illinois.

Miller made the announcement via a YouTube video where she also announced she had received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

Miller says, “President Trump endorsed me because he knows we need to defeat weak establishment Republicans who stand with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. President Trump knows that Illinois needs an “America First” conservative in Congress. Together, we will hold this seat for Conservatives. Together, we will make America great again.”

Miller says she is proud to be the only member of Congress from Illinois who is fighting to impeach Joe Biden and the Biden Cabinet for leaving the Southern border exposed to an invasion of illegal immigration. She says she is the only member from Illinois who has fought every effort by Biden to use COVID vaccine mandates to fire Americans from their jobs.   Miller also said she led the fight to ban taxpayer-funded chemical abortion with the Protecting Life on College Campus Act.

Miller concludes by saying she won’t allow corrupt Democrats like JB Pritzker to cut backroom deals to draw her out of the district she represents because conservative voters who stand with President Trump deserve a Pro-Second Amendment, Pro-Life, America First voice in Congress.

Meanwhile, Davis says he’s a conservative who gets things done. He notes he has been endorsed by 32 of the 35 Republican county chairmen in the 15th District, former Congressman John Shimkus, and current Congressmen Darin LaHood and Mike Bost. Davis said he opposed both attempts by Democrats in Congress to impeach President Trump and voted with Trump nearly 90-percent of the time when he was in office.  Davis also co-chaired 2020 re-election bid.

The Illinois primary election this year is in June.
