Darius Sullivan and Xandria Harris (State Police)

The Illinois State Police said in a statement that Darius Sullivan was found Friday morning, a day after authorities warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The statement did not provide details of where Sullivan was found. It said he will be transported brought back to Kankakee County, where the shooting occurred late Wednesday night.

The state police said authorities are still searching for 26-year-old Xandria A. Harris.

Preliminary reports indicated that the two officers responded to a hotel for a noise complaint.  After initiating conversation with those inside the hotel, 49-year-old Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and 27-year-old officer Tyler Bailey were fired upon.  Both were struck by gunfire and transferred to area hospitals for treatment.  Sergeant Rittmanic later succumbed to her injuries.  Officer Bailey remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly said the senseless harm and killing of two more Illinois Police Officers bring great sorrow to the agency and to the family, friends, and brothers and sisters of the Bradley Police Department.  He promised Illinois State Police will use every resource at its disposal to ensure the individuals responsible are brought to justice.

Anyone who sees the two suspects or has information about their whereabouts or the incident itself is asked to call ISP at 815-698-2672 or Crime Stoppers at 815-93-CRIME.   Callers can remain anonymous.
