Wayne County Deputy killed on I-64 has Salem connection

A Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy who was killed in the line of duty Wednesday morning has ties to Salem.

Sean Riley’s mother, Mary, was a teacher at Salem Community High School in the 1990s and 200s. Sean is also the brother of 1998 graduate Spring Riley Bonney.

In a Facebook post, Salem Community High School said “our collective hearts are heavy tonight. God bless Deputy Riley and his family.”
