A 73-year-old Grafton man has died in a crash involving a pickup truck and truck-tractor on northbound Interstate 57 south of Mt. Vernon.
A State Police preliminary investigation indicates that the truck tractor driven by 31-year-old Nodell Graves of Madison, Wisconsin was stopped on the right shoulder of northbound I-57 at milepost 84 when a northbound pickup driven by a 73-year-old man from Grafton hit the rear of the trailer. The Grafton man was pronounced deceased on the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the semi was not injured.
Interstate 57 northbound was closed for about an hour and 30 minutes during the crash investigation with traffic diverted off the interstate.
The crash occurred at 2:32 Wednesday afternoon.
State Police say it remains under investigation.
