Bicyclist struck by car in Centralia

A 30-year-old rural Centralia man was injured when his motorized bike reportedly ran a red light and was struck by a car at the Broadway and Locust Street intersection in downtown Centralia Thursday morning.

Initial reports from Centralia Police indicate Bradley Venters of Community Beach Road received lacerations to his forehead in the crash and was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

The driver of the car, 73-year-old Carl Mecum of State Route 161 in Centralia, was not hurt.

The crash was reported at 9:30 Thursday morning.
