Bond has been set at $100,000 for a Salem man formally charged in Marion County Court on Thursday with possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, domestic battery, and criminal trespass.
Salem Police arrested Anthony Arnold of West Lake Street early Thursday morning after being asked to do a welfare check on the occupant of the housing authority apartment in the 700 block of Senneff Street.
Arnold was gone by the time police arrived but was stopped a short time later. He was charged with domestic battery for allegedly striking the victim in the head with his fist. Arnold had already been trespassed from Marion County Housing Authority Property. He was also allegedly found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.
Judge Michael McHaney appointed a public defender to represent Arnold. If released on bond, Arnold was ordered to have no contact with the victim and undergo random drug tests.
