Police Beat for Thursday, December 23rd, 2021

A 33-year-old Salem man has been arrested by Salem Police for domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal trespass to property.   Police reports indicate they were called for a wellbeing check at a Marion County Housing Authority Unit in the 700 block of East Seneff where Anthony Arnold of West Lake Street have previously been banned.  He reportedly had struck a former girlfriend while at the residence before leaving.  During the traffic stop, police say they discovered a controlled substance in his possession.

Salem Police arrested a 20-year-old Centralia man on outstanding Marion and Clinton County warrants after being called to a domestic dispute in the 2600 block of South Washington just before six Wednesday morning.   Lindell Troupe of North Hickory was wanted on a Marion County warrant for felony criminal trespass to a residence and a Clinton County warrant for violation of an order of protection.   Bond on the warrants was set $25,000 apiece.

Two people were sent to jail from the Marion County Courthouse to serve contempt of court sentences following an outbreak during a court hearing.  29-year-old Kendra Chumley of East 9th in Junction City had to serve a six-hour sentence and 33-year-old Alicia Bradford of South Pine in Centralia a two-hour sentence.

24-year-old Tabitha Sterit of West 17th in Centralia was arrested by Wamac Police on a Franklin County failure to appear in court warrant.   She was later released on an I-Bond.

Salem Police are investigating the theft of two more catalytic converters.  They were taken from vehicles at Schmitt Ford on West Main Street.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a pickup truck stolen sometime before three Wednesday morning from a residence in the 4900 block of Church Road south of Salem.
