A 24-year-old Wamac man has been arrested for felony theft of a figurine from the Bell Tower Christmas display.
Centralia Police say they were able to identify Coleman Ross of Gompers Street as a person who had run from a car on December 11th, grabbed the figurine, and left in the vehicle.
Police say the owner of the car had said he would recover the figurine and return it to police. That didn’t happen, but the figurine eventually was dropped back off near the display.
He was taken into custody on the charge Saturday during a traffic stop by Wamac Police. Ross was also arrested for driving on a revoked license and on a Clay County traffic warrant. Bond on the warrant is set at $7,500.
