Centralia man arrested for striking sheriff’s deputy serving papers

A 29-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting arrest, and violation of an order of protection after allegedly striking a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy serving papers at his home on Friday.

Sheriff’s officials were reportedly trying to serve papers to Zachary Moore of Green Street Road in the violation of an order of protection case when Moore allegedly struck the deputy and then resisted being taken into custody.

The deputy did not require any treatment.   Moore was taken to the Marion County Jail.
