Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced Wednesday that longtime developer Michael Reschke, who leads The Prime Group, will head up the development of the James R. Thompson Center.
The group plans to retain the design of the 17-story curved glass structure in downtown Chicago. The state will also keep some office space in the building, saying the deal will save taxpayers $800 million.
Reschke says he expects the sale to close within six months and renovations to start within a year.
