Centralia Fire Protection District Fire Chief Ross Boshera says flames were shooting through the roof of a two-story home at Number Two Edgebrook upon their arrival early Monday morning. He reports the home will be a total loss.
The home was vacant and undergoing renovation. The owner of the home was not immediately confirmed.
The Centralia City Fire Department was initially called because the person who initially spotted the fire was in the Fairway Drive Apartment Complex that is within the city limits. When city firemen arrived, they determined the fire was in the district, and Centralia District Firemen were called to lead the firefighting effort.
Boshera says there were no issues fighting the fire other than the big head start it had. The fire was hot enough to melt a small amount of siding on a neighboring home at #3 Edgebrook Drive.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The fire call came in at 4:53 Monday morning. Firemen were on the scene until about 7:30 am.
