A rural Iuka man was injured when scraped by a large tree he was cutting down on his property.
Iuka Fire Chief Ken Eagan says initial reports indicated the tree had fallen on Robert Easley of Bee Branch Road northeast of Iuka, but it turned out Easley had been knocked down by the falling tree which caused some lacerations to his head and pain to his left leg.
Iuka Firemen assisted in loading Easley into an ambulance to be taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred around four Tuesday afternoon.
