Bond was set at $7,500 in Marion County Court on Thursday for a 25-year-old Wausau, Wisconsin man charged with aggravated battery to a nurse.

Jonathan Sanchez-Anaya was arrested by Salem Police after he allegedly hit a nurse with a punch to the face in the emergency room at Salem Township Hospital. The incident occurred while Sanchez-Anaya was talking to the nurse and police after returning to the hospital after earlier fleeing.

While in the parking lot, he allegedly took a phone from a hospital employee coming to work. The phone was later recovered.

Sanchez-Anaya had the public defender appointed to represent him. As a condition of release on bond he will not be allowed to use drugs or alcohol and will be subject to random testing.

Sanchez-Anaya was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation with recommended treatment. He will be allowed to go back to Wisconsin provided he sign a waiver of extradition to return for scheduled court appearances.

Later on Thursday, Sanchez-Anaya posted $750 bond and was released from the Marion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing in the case was set for December 16th.
