Centralia Police say all eight of the tornado warning sirens in the Centralia-Wamac-Central City area are now operational, but there are still problems that need to be addressed.
Administrative Sergeant Steve Whritenour reports none of the sirens can currently be set off remotely from the Centralia dispatch center. All but three can be set off by Salem Dispatch. The three that right now can only be set off at the tower are Wamac, the 1600 block of East McCord, and the siren at the Centralia Police and Fire Station.
Whritenour says work is continuing on the remote problems. The goal is to make sure everything is operational by the start of the spring storm season.
