Vacant home burns on South Perrine Street southeast of Centralia Saturday morning.

A vacant home just southeast of Centralia was destroyed by fire Saturday morning.

Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says a newspaper delivery driver discovered the fire at 2027 South Perrine.    He reports by the time firemen arrived, flames were through the roof which eventually burned off.

Firefighting efforts were hampered by a strong south wind.   No other buildings were threatened.

The ownership of the home is currently in an estate and there appeared to be limited belongings inside.

The State’s Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to try and determine the cause of the fire.

The fire call came in at 6:31 Saturday morning.   Firemen were on the scene for about four hours.  No mutual aid was called.
