A 37-year-old Centralia woman has been arrested for aggravated domestic battery after a 15-year-old family member came to the Centralia Police Station on Friday claiming to have been abused.
Celia Hodges of East 2nd was taken into custody after coming to the police station to report the girl had runaway. After refusing to talk to police about the multiple marks and bruises seen on the girl’s body, Hodges was arrested.
Police say the charge was aggravated domestic battery because the alleged victim said she had been choked.
Hodges was taken to the Marion County Jail, while the 15-year-old was turned over to the care of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
