Clinton County reporting two new COVID-19 related deaths; Marion County 17 new cases

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting two new COVID-19 related deaths for the week ending on Friday.  They were a male in his 70s and a female in her 60s.  That brings the total number of deaths in Clinton County to 104.

There were also 55 new cases and six new hospital admissions during the week.  Those hospitalized are a male and female in their 30s, a female in her 40s, a female in her 60s, a male in his 70s, and a female in her 80s.

Wayne County is recording its 63rd COVID-19 related death as well as eight new cases Monday through Thursday.

The Marion County Health Department has had no new deaths during the past two days but is reporting 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and Friday.  Of the new cases, five are fully vaccinated and three are long-term care residents.  The department also reports six of school age and two are four years old and younger.

The new cases push the number of COVID-19 cases in Marion County since the pandemic began to over 7,000….7,007 to be exact.

There are currently 87 active cases in the county, including three in the hospital.  None of those are long-term care residents or on a ventilator.   Two of the patients are in their 50s and one in their 80s.

Of the new cases, four are considered community spread and 13 as a result of household or close contacts.

Jefferson County is reporting 40 new cases on Thursday and Friday with 57 currently in isolation.

Washington County is reporting nine new cases Tuesday through Friday.

Illinois is reporting 17,462 cases over the past week ending on Friday with 183 additional deaths.  Of Illinois’ total population, 66-percent have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, and nearly 61-percent are fully vaccinated.
