Two face felony charges following weekend arrests

Two people face new felony charges following separate arrests. 19-year-old Cortez Burgess of St. Louis was formally charged in Marion County Court on Monday with possession of a stolen firearm. State Police say he had a 9mm handgun in his possession during a traffic stop in Centralia. Bond was set at $15,000 and the public defender appointed.

28-year-old Melanie Scerba of South Walnut in Centralia was charged with possession of meth under five grams. Her bond was set at $5,000 and the public defender appointed.
