A 49-year-old Centralia man has been charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery to a police officer in Marion County Court after allegedly getting into an altercation with two officers called to a domestic disturbance at his home.

David Cluck of North Cherry Street reportedly wouldn’t let two other family members into his home on Saturday. After a Centralia officer and a Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived he opened the door but allegedly became violent when an attempt was made to take him into custody on a Marion County failure to appear domestic battery warrant.

The aggravated battery to police officer charges allege that Cluck grabbed both of the officers’ hands.

Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says the Centralia officer also received a cut to the forearm when a door broke during the altercation. Cluck had to be tazed before they were able to handcuff him.

Cluck had bond set at $5,000 on the new charge.  He’s also being held in lieu of $2,500 bond on the outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
