There are four new COVID-19 related deaths in the region.
The Fayette County Health Department is reporting three deaths for the week ending on Friday. That brings their total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 64. Fayette County is reporting 55 new cases during that same period of time.
The Washington County Health Department is reporting its 33rd death of the pandemic, a man in his 70s. Three new cases were reported Saturday through Monday.
The Marion County Health Department has had no additional deaths during the four-day period of Saturday through Tuesday. However, there have been 59 new COVID-19 cases.
Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says 11 of those testing positive were fully vaccinated. Seven of the positive cases are of school age and two are four years old and younger. There was also a male in his 80s and four in their 70s that also tested positive. None were long-term care residents.
There are now 659 active cases in isolation, including 37 who are in the hospital with six of those on vents. The age breakdown for those in the hospital is two in their 80s, four in their 70s, 13 in their 60s, 11 in the 50s, five in their 40s, and two in their 30s.
The health department reports 156 were released from isolation during the past four days.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 46 new cases from Saturday through Tuesday, with 70 currently in isolation.
